Athlytic vs Bevel
Athlytic is the focused one: a Recovery score from overnight HRV and resting heart rate, a 0–10 Exertion target for the day, and one plan at $29.99/year or $4.99/month. Bevel is the broad one: recovery, sleep, strain, stress, nutrition and strength tracking in a free plan, direct Garmin, Oura and Google Health connections, and Bevel Pro at $99.99/year or $14.99/month for its AI coach and extras. Pick Athlytic for a clear daily training target at a low price; pick Bevel if you want one app for food, lifting and several wearables.

Focused versus all-in-one
Athlytic is built around two numbers. Every morning your overnight HRV and resting heart rate, compared with your own baseline, become a Recovery percentage; that sets a Target Exertion range, and your cardiovascular load builds toward it through the day on a 0–10 scale you can watch on your wrist. Sleep, Battery and Stress, Target Sleep, Athlytic Age and a habit journal fill in around them. Its developer describes it as a two-person independent company, and it publishes one price.
Bevel is built to be the single place for your health data. Recovery, Sleep, Strain and Stress scores sit beside a full nutrition logger, a strength trainer and an Energy Bank, and its help center says the free plan includes all of that tracking. Pro adds Bevel Intelligence, an AI coach that answers questions about your data, plus Health Records, Biological Age and Training Plans. It is also the one to choose if your data does not all come from an Apple Watch: Garmin, Oura and Google Health accounts connect directly.
Who should pick which
- Pick Athlytic if you train regularly and want a clear, daily "how hard today" target with a live gauge on your watch, structured workouts on your wrist, iPad support, iOS 17 support, or the lower annual price.
- Pick Bevel if you also want to log food and lifting in the same app, use a Garmin, Oura or Fitbit, want a generous free plan before paying anything, or want an AI coach to talk your data through.
- A third option: if you would rather pay once than subscribe, or mostly want your readiness score as a home-screen widget, Body Vitals — our app — reads the same Apple Health data and has a one-time lifetime purchase. It requires iOS 26. Compare it directly with Athlytic or Bevel.
Disclosure: escapethematrix.app makes Body Vitals and is not affiliated with Athlytic (MyndArc, LLC) or Bevel (Finerpoint, Inc.); their names are used only to identify the products compared. Not medical advice: recovery scores are wellness estimates, not diagnoses.
The third option: Body Vitals
A 0–100 readiness score on your home screen from Apple Health. No account, no cloud. Yearly, or a one-time lifetime purchase.

Is Athlytic or Bevel cheaper?
It depends on what you need. Bevel has a free plan that already includes Recovery, Sleep, Strain, Stress, nutrition and strength tracking; Bevel Pro is $99.99/year or $14.99/month. Athlytic is free to download with a one-week trial, and its full app is $29.99/year or $4.99/month. If you would pay for either, Athlytic's paid plan costs less per year.
Which is more like Whoop?
Both borrow the recovery-and-strain idea. Athlytic pairs a morning Recovery score with an Exertion score from 0 to 10 and a Target Exertion range for the day. Bevel pairs a Recovery Score with a Strain Score personalized to your sleep and recovery, and adds an Energy Bank that combines them.
Does Athlytic or Bevel work with Garmin, Oura or Fitbit?
Bevel connects directly to Garmin Connect, Oura and Google Health (which covers Fitbit). Athlytic reads Apple Health; its listing says an Apple Watch is needed for most features, though some third-party wearables that write HRV to Apple Health also work.
Which works on older iPhones?
Athlytic requires iOS 17.0 or later and also runs on iPad. Bevel requires iOS 18.0 or later on iPhone. Both have Apple Watch apps.
Is there an option without a subscription?
Athlytic's site says it has one plan and no lifetime unlocks, and Bevel's listed plans are monthly or annual. Bevel's free plan covers its core tracking without paying. If you want a one-time purchase instead, Body Vitals (made by us) sells a $99.99 lifetime option.
