Looks and appearance apps
There is no App Store category for appearance apps, so this section uses a fixed rule. It lists apps in the US Top Free, Top Paid and Top Grossing charts for Lifestyle, Photo & Video and Health & Fitness whose name contains one of these words: face, facial, skin, skincare, glow, glowup, beauty, makeup, hair, hairstyle, looks, looksmax, looksmaxxing, outfit, attractive, attractiveness, grooming, jawline, acne. Names that also contain baby or pregnancy are left out. Many matches are photo editors rather than analysis apps; the rule is kept the same every week so editions can be compared.

Method and sources
- Charts: Apple's public RSS feeds, fetched 4 Oct 2026, 22:04 IST. Health & Fitness (genre 6013), Lifestyle (6012) and Photo & Video (6008) charts come from the iTunes RSS feeds (itunes.apple.com/<country>/rss/<chart>/limit=100/genre=<id>/json). The all-app Top Free and Top Paid charts come from Apple's marketing-tools RSS feed (rss.marketingtools.apple.com/api/v2).
- App details: ratings, rating counts, prices, primary category and release dates come from the iTunes Lookup API (itunes.apple.com/lookup) for the same storefront. A rating is the average across all versions for that storefront; "n/a" means the API returned no value.
- What a chart is: Apple ranks charts with its own undisclosed method, which includes recent downloads. A chart position is not a measure of quality.
- Observations: computed directly from the snapshot, with no estimates or modelling. Means are simple averages; "free to download" means a Lookup price of 0.
- Data: every chart row used on this page, with its Lookup fields, is in the CSV.
